Storytelling has always been my first and foremost passion. As a child, I would spend summers at camps dedicated to crafting stories or at the library whiling away the hours reading books. It was a thrill to be transported into magical worlds through words, and I was often inspired to create my own worlds too. As an adult, this imagination work has continued as I’ve come to fully understand the power of our stories to heal ourselves, create connections, and resist systems of oppression.
Today, storytelling is a way for me to envision and create the change I want to see in our world.
I founded Living Hyphen, a community and multimedia platform dedicated to amplifying the stories of hyphenated Canadians, to honour that. As the editor of our print publication, the co-writer and co-host of our podcast, and the primary facilitator for our writing workshops and open mic nights, I aim to create spaces for courageous and tender storytelling for racialized communities that dismantle systems of oppression and move us closer towards our shared liberation.
Beyond this arts community, my commitment to and belief in storytelling to create just worlds has emerged in all aspects of my professional life. I invite you to explore the many ways we can work together through storytelling to bring our vision for the world into our lived reality.

Beyond my work as the founder and editor of Living Hyphen, I also work in the publishing industry as a freelance writer, sensitivity reader, copyeditor, and developmental editor. Focused on the big picture while keeping a keen eye on defining details, this is where my passion for storytelling shines and thrives.

Key to any movement’s success is its ability to tell stories that connect with the people, create empathy, and ultimately cultivate community. For over a decade, I’ve worked in the social impact space to tell an organization’s unique story and advocate their cause in a meaningful and compelling way.
Film & Television
I weave compelling narratives in writing and help to bring them vividly to life on screen. From the writer’s room to the production set, I have experience as a story coordinator, language specialist, and assistant director in CSA-nominated shows, as well films featured in international film festivals.
